Spire Global will provide weather forecasts at 10 aerostat sites under a potential five-year subcontract with TCOM.
The numerical weather prediction subcontract includes notification alerts for TCOM aerostat site operators, weather training for site managers and a contact center providing weather information, Spire said Monday.
Spire operates a constellation of over 100 satellites offering weather forecasts in remote areas.
“In support of its mission, TCOM requires reliable and highly accurate weather forecasting to ensure performance excellence,” said Chuck Cash, vice president of federal sales at Spire.
“Space-based data is the differentiator between potentially damaging downtime and operational success, especially in remote areas of the world,” added Cash.
