The U.S. Army is soliciting proposals for a potential five-year, $88 million contract to provide design and engineering support services for Group I unmanned aircraft systems.
The service branch plans to compete the Soldier UAS Design and Engineering Services indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract as a small business set-aside program, according to a solicitation published Friday.
Group I UAS consists of short-range, medium-range and long-range reconnaissance aircraft and the handheld ground control station.
The IDIQ contract has a one-year base period and four option years.
The military branch intends to award a task order to provide engineering support to the Soldier UAS product office to help build a wireless interface between the H-GCS and ground radio using an ultrawide bandwidth technology.
The task order will require the vendor to provide a technical data package, prototype systems for testing and offer documentation support.
The service will accept questions related to the single-award IDIQ contract through May 6 and address those queries on May 13.
Proposals are due May 31.
