Mercury Systems CTO Named Chair of SOSA Consortium Advisory Board - top government contractors - best government contracting event

William Conley, senior vice president and chief technology officer of Mercury Systems, was tapped to chair the newly established advisory board of Sensor Open System Architecture Consortium while Ken Hermanny, company senior director and general manager, was also named to the board.

The company said Thursday both executives will be tasked to inform the SOSA Consortium about market opportunities, issues and requirements to help it advance the adoption of open architecture in support of Department of Defense goals.

The advisory board consisting of government, industry and academia representatives will also advise the consortium on how it can expand SOSA adoption.

“We look forward to advising and supporting the Consortium’s efforts to foster modular design solutions that will help the DOD quickly and affordably integrate the most advanced technologies to serve those who serve us,” said Conley.

The consortium uses key interfaces and open standards from industry-government consensus in an effort to develop a uniform framework envisioned to guide the transformation of sensor systems to an open systems architecture.
