CesiumAstro has raised $60 million in a round of Series B financing co-led by Airbus Ventures and Forever Ventures and will use the capital to accelerate its research and development efforts and expand manufacturing capabilities and facilities in the U.S. and abroad.
“This investment is a key endorsement of our ability to deliver advanced communication systems to both our commercial and defense customers and fully secures our growth trajectory,” Shey Sabripour, founder and CEO of CesiumAstro, said in a statement published Wednesday.
Founded in 2017, CesiumAstro provides active phased array communications payloads for airborne and in-orbit platforms. One of the company’s products is Nightingale, a communications system that could support defense, civil and commercial applications.
Other investors that participated in the oversubscribed funding round are L3Harris Technologies, Kleiner Perkins, Lavrock Ventures, HEICO and Franklin Templeton Blackhorse Fund.
