Business launch

BAE Systems has established a new business dedicated to offering combined expertise in cyber, data and digital capabilities.

The company said Thursday its new digital intelligence business employs approximately 5,000 professionals across 16 countries to help global commercial, goverment and defense customers digitally operate with security and efficiency.

The business includes BAE’s acquired assets of satellite designer In-Space Missions, electronics manufacturer PPM and digital services company Techmodal.

BAE has tasked the business to develop military communication systems, modernize automatic number plate recognition technology, help the British naval forces predict technical failures, develop a simulation toolkit for transportation security screening and digitally transform how the U.K.’s navy generates insight from disparate data.

The business is also working on In-Space Missions’ Faraday satellite rideshare service and the Veritas product, which is designed to help the British army predict material and equipment requirements.
