Kathryn Sullivan and Steve Smith, two top U.S. science officials and former astronauts, have joined the advisory board of weather and climate security technology developer Tomorrow.io.
The Boston, Massachusetts-based company said Friday the two advisers will work to support its business strategy that includes going public on Nasdaq and launching radar-equipped satellites in 2022.
Sullivan currently sits on the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and was an administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Meanwhile, Smith is the current director of the International Space Station U.S. National Laboratory. He is a former deputy head of NASA Astronauts Corps.
“Their guidance and inspiration will help us develop and evolve the tools and technology that countries, businesses and individuals need to mitigate the growing threats of weather and climate extremes,” said Shimon Elkabetz, the company co-founder and CEO.
Tomorrow.io, a company that seeks to help clients manage weather and climate security challenges, is set to merge with special purpose acquisition company Pine Technology Acquisition Corp. It is expected to trade on Nasdaq following the said move.
