Aquia is teaming up with RevaComm to perform cybersecurity services for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services under a five-year contract with the General Services Administration.

The veteran-owned startup said Tuesday it will provide security engineering and architecture services for CMS’s Continuous Authorization and Verification Engine or batCAVE, which is designed to accelerate software development while maintaining continuous security.

Work will include platform-as-a-service development, DevSecOps tooling and automation, pipeline security and continuous integration/continuous deployment.

Aquia will also deploy a joint offensive-defensive “purple” team to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities, and automate compliance functions in pursuit of a continuous authority-to-operate for batCAVE.

“This is a great opportunity to bring cloud-based application delivery to the federal civilian government, with security baked into the very heart of the initiative,” said David Maskeroni, CEO of Aquia.
