United Launch Alliance has expanded its supplier network for machined and fabricated parts of its Atlas V rocket with the addition of Maynard, a Wichita, Kansas-based component manufacturer.
The launch services provider said Friday Maynard’s workforce will augment its launch and schedule capability needed to support customer requirements.
Tory Bruno, president and CEO of ULA and previous Wash100 Award recipient, said he wants to tap into the diverse skills within Wichita’s aerospace workforce. He added that he recently visited the Kansas city to meet with existing and potential suppliers as ULA continues to provide launch services in support of its customers.
Atlas V has flown 90 times for missions under NASA, the Department of Defense and industry entities. ULA has supported over 140 orbital missions across a variety of applications including weather tracking, GPS navigation and solar system studies.
