Maxar Technologies has booked over $100 million in three agreements that extend the company’s work of delivering satellite imagery to international defense and intelligence customers.
The company said Wednesday its Direct Access Program will continue to enable the unnamed clients to download 30 cm-class data from Maxar’s constellation of Earth imaging satellites to their ground stations.
With one of the contract extensions, Maxar also secured the second commitment from a customer to acquire access to its upcoming WorldView Legion satellites. The company expects to launch the first spacecraft between May 15 and June 13.
Tony Frazier, executive vice president of global field operations at Maxar and a previous Wash100 awardee, cited the perceived demand for WorldView Legion and said the satellites are designed while considering customer missions and long-term partnerships with them.
“Increased collection capacity benefits not only monitoring applications, but it will also accelerate our ability to map the globe in 3D, understand precise change and deliver AI-powered insights on mission-relevant timelines,” he added.
