Eric Axelbank, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, has been promoted to the role of chief growth officer at Amyx, where he previously served as vice president of growth.
In his new role, Axelbank will be responsible for the company’s market expansion in cybersecurity, eDiscovery, application modernization and other areas as well as in the company’s professional services business, Amyx said Monday.
“Eric’s impressive career in both the public and private sector including multiple leadership roles at Amyx has given him a unique understanding of the challenges many federal agencies face as well as how our solution offerings bring positive change to their operating environments,” commented William Schaefer, CEO and president of Amyx.
Axelbank oversaw Amyx’s defense business before taking on a special assignment with the Department of Veterans Affairs as chief of the capital and performance budget division. He later returned to Amyx as the director of strategic growth before being promoted to VP of growth.
Prior to his time with Amyx, Axelbank served nearly two years as deputy chief information officer at the Pentagon, where he was responsible for the modernization of the more than 200 information technology systems that supported the $127 billion Air Force logistics enterprise.
The new CGO’s prior military service includes two years as joint logistics war planner for the Pacific Command. He also held multiple leadership positions in the Air Force across his more than 25 years of service.
Axelbank said he is honored to continue his work with a company “defined by consummate professionalism, a culture of integrity and trust, and a teamwork environment” at the core of its mission.
