Kevin Harkenrider, former executive vice president of global operations and chief operations officer at Viasat, has been promoted to serve as the company’s chief operating officer.
Viasat said Wednesday Harkenrider will look after its operational structure and controls, work to align its innovation engine with operational priorities and help drive its operational focus, investments and market leadership position.
Rick Baldridge, president and CEO of Viasat, commented that Harkenrider brings to his new role a track record of completing strategic and operational goals needed to support company growth.
“A 15-year Viasat veteran, Kevin has proven to be a successful and trusted leader, building a strong reputation for ensuring accountability, developing people, inspiring teams and delivering results,” noted Baldridge.
Since joining the military communications contractor in 2006, Harkenrider has held several senior leadership roles, such as president of the company’s commercial networks and broadband services businesses.
