Timothy McBride, a former senior vice president at Raytheon Technologies, will become president of ST Engineering‘s U.S. business arm focused on providing aerospace, electronics, marine and transportation services across government and commercial markets.

ST Engineering said Monday McBride’s appointment as ST Engineering North America‘s president will take effect Nov. 1 and he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in its largest market outside of Singapore.

At Raytheon, he drove the development and execution of advocacy strategies and expanded global business interests as SVP of global government relations.

Previously, McBride oversaw and advanced U.S. federal defense programs, including the F-35 program, as senior vice president of government relations for United Technologies.

“Tim brings with him a deep understanding of the commercial and defense sectors, as well as a wealth of experience in government relations,” said Vincent Chong, CEO and group president of ST Engineering.

Chong added, “We will benefit from Tim’s strong set of credentials, expertise and experience as we continue to deliver on our strategic agenda for long-term value creation in the U.S.”

ST Engineering’s U.S. headquarters contributes about a quarter of the company’s total revenue. The group began operating in the U.S. in 2001 and recently announced its planned acquisition of Roper Technologies subsidiary, TransCore, for $2.68 billion.

According to McBride, he plans to take advantage of the “significant opportunities” in the future of the U.S. market.
