Raytheon Technologies’ intelligence and space business has unveiled a 178,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in McKinney, Texas, and announced plans to open a larger facility in the city by 2025 to provide new offices, production and laboratory spaces.
“Our new Advanced Integration and Manufacturing Center and plans for greater expansion reflect a deliberate strategy to transform ourselves by investing in new digital capabilities,” Roy Azevedo, president of Raytheon Intelligence & Space and a 2021 Wash100 Award winner, said in a statement published Thursday.
Azevedo added that the company is focused on enhancing its agility as it builds and delivers technologies to customers.
RI&S launched the Advanced Integration and Manufacturing Center through a $100 million investment and partnership with the McKinney Economic Development Corporation. The Raytheon business has delivered on its commitment to generating 500 skilled jobs in the area in line with the facility’s establishment.
RI&S said it expects the proposed 400,000-square-foot facility in McKinney to create 700 jobs and enable it to develop, test and deliver novel tech platforms to customers.
“We are transforming our operations to meet customer demand, improve our employee experience and prepare for additional growth,” said Jeff Place, vice president of operations at RI&S.
