NOAA Selects Tetra Tech Geospatial Services to Support Coastal Efforts; Dan Batrack Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Tetra Tech has received a spot on a five-year, $49 million multiple-award contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for geospatial services in support of its Digital Coast program.

The Pasadena, California-based company said Thursday it will provide data acquisition and analytics services to help the NOAA reduce the damage to the U.S. coastline caused by rising seas and climate change.

Contractor work is also aimed at enabling NOAA to address various coastal issues, such as coastal resiliency, marine planning and sustainable land use, by leveraging high-resolution maps created from LiDAR and satellite imagery.

The award covers geospatial support such as data analytics, interpretative analysis and modeling, and oftware application development.

Dan Batrack, CEO and chairman of Tetra Tech, said the company will continue providing program support to NOAA’s coastal resource management and protection initiative through the use of its geospatial data acquisition and analytics capabilities.

The effort is in line with the agency’s mandate of managing U.S. coastal resources.
