A General Dynamics business unit has received a multimillion-dollar contract from the U.K. ministry of defense for additional field testers of combat search-and-rescue radio systems.

The ministry ordered 30 more CTS-6025 CSAR test sets from General Dynamics Mission Systems after the company initially delivered 30 units last year, the company said Monday.

GDMS noted that the testing platform unifies 16 separate instruments and allows the user to check the performance of two-way communications equipment consisting of the HOOK3 radio, AN/PRC-112G transceiver and the QuickDraw2 interrogator.

HOOK3 combat survival radios are designed to help CSAR personnel communicate with downed aircrews and isolated troops during CSAR missions.

Ametek subsidiary Muirhead Aerospace, GDMS’ distribution partner in the U.K., executed the order from the British defense ministry.
