Boeing has secured a $49.7 million firm-fixed-price contract with the U.S. Army to inspect and maintain the mechanical transmission of the CH-47 Chinook helicopters.
The Army’s contracting arm held an online solicitation for the award and received one proposal, the Department of Defense said Monday.
The service branch will assign performance locations and funds per order as the company overhauls Chinook units through Aug. 23, 2025.
The Boeing-made CH-47 tandem-rotor aircraft features a digital cockpit management system and common avionics architecture for use in multiple types of missions. The rotorcraft has a fuel capacity of 1,034 gallons and can travel at up to 187.6 miles per hour.
