Kratos Defense and Security Solutions has partnered with North American Wave Engine Corp. to create a new air-launched vehicle that would demonstrate low-cost technologies to be used in future aerial platforms.
Kratos said Friday its unmanned systems division will help Wave Engine Corp. develop the Versatile Air-Launched Platform under the latter’s $1 million contract with the U.S. Air Force.
VALP is among USAF’s high-impact technology projects aimed at supporting the future of air warfare. The platform will employ propulsion technology made by Wave Engine Corp., which received the project’s corresponding contract in June.
Daanish Maqbool, CEO of North American Wave Engine, said the company looks forward to establishing the technical foundations for the future of air vehicles alongside Kratos.
