Randy Domingo and Abhi Singh of Amazon Web Services said AWS has launched a platform that could help contractors speed up the deployment of a cloud-based environment that complies with the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program.
They wrote in a blog posted Tuesday that the AWS Compliant Framework for Federal and DoD Workloads in AWS GovCloud (US) platform offers several ways on how customers can meet CMMC requirements and one of those is the platform’s use of AWS CloudFormation, AWS Cloud Development Kit and other infrastructure as code offerings meant to help clients implement an environment that complies with CMMC.
“This includes the fully automated creation of AWS accounts, configuration of security services, and deployment of networking infrastructure,” Singh and Domingo wrote.
The AWS Compliant Framework also comes with a logging account that provides users a centralized location to aggregate log data generated across the AWS environment.
They also noted that the platform helps users perform continuous monitoring using AWS security services and enables them to extend and customize the environment to meet their organizations’ needs.
Domingo is a senior consultant within AWS’ worldwide public sector and Singh is a senior solution architect at the company.
