Raytheon Technologies’ missiles and defense business has received a $112.7 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy for production efforts for the Rolling Airframe Missile Block 2B and delivery of RAM Block 2 guided missile round pack to Egypt under the Foreign Military Sales program.

More than 60 percent of work under the contract’s firm-fixed-price modification will be conducted at Raytheon Missiles and Defense’s facility in Tucson, Arizona, while 27 percent of work will be performing at another Raytheon facility in Ottobrunn, Germany, the Department of Defense said Friday.

RMS is expected to complete work in the said locations and in the U.S.; Glenrothes, Scotland; Midland, Canada; and Plymouth, U.K., by December 2024.

The Navy will obligate $113.8 million from FMS Egypt funds and $3.1 million from fiscal 2021 weapons procurement budget at the time of award, with Naval Sea Systems Command serving as the contracting activity.

In March 2020, the Raytheon subsidiary secured a $146 million Navy contract for RAM 2/2A GMRP and spare replacement components for FMS customers Germany, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Egypt. The contract’s cumulative value could reach $353.3 million if its options are exercised.

RAM is a guided missile weapon system designed to protect ships from anti-ship missiles as well as surface craft, aircraft and helicopters. The missile’s Block 2 variant features enhanced radio frequency receiver for threat detection.
