Leonard DRS has opened a new manufacturing facility in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, where its naval power segment will work to deliver services and boost business efforts to aid the U.S. Navy.

The arms industry company said Friday it invested in the facility to become the center point of the Leonardo DRS Naval Power business’ modernized manufacturing, engineering and logistics operations.

Since 1945, the company has delivered naval and marine power distribution assistance, automation and control tools, including latest ship designs that supported the combatants of the U.S. Navy.

“This new facility is opening at the right time to service the U.S. Navy as their requirements grow,” said John Baylouny, chief operating officer of Leonardo DRS.

The naval power business unit of the company will also use the new space to accommodate offices that facilitate advanced engineering works and supply management and logistics support.

Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, R-WI, who was present in the ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, said the facility will employ 650 locals and help in the defense capabilities of the nation.
