KBR has secured a potential five-year $91.8 million task order for engineering services in support of research, analysis and development of technologies for U.S. Air Force aircraft and other system components managed by the 448th Supply Chain Management Wing.
The task order was awarded through the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s multiple-award contract, the company said Tuesday.
“Our work will directly address key performance attributes for reliability, maintainability and supply chain performance, thereby increasing overall effectiveness for the Air Force,” commented Byron Bright, president of KBR’s government solutions business and a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient.
The task order requires KBR to identify and develop technologies for the Air Force to address Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages issues associated with increasing aircraft age.
Engineering analysis of electronic warfare systems and components as well as evaluation fundamental design requirements, logistics supportability and life-limiting degradation issues are also covered by the contract work.
KBR will assess the Air Force equipment software and security impacts and modify requirements due to platform needs or redesign efforts and evaluate aircraft fleet status. Work includes depot requirements, repair processes, procurement of parts, modification of procedures, engineering support, data management requirements, software requirements and overall product support.
Work will be performed in Georgia, Oklahoma, and Utah and other locations over a five-year period. KBR has performed similar work for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Command since 2005.
