LMI has received a one-year contract from the U.S. Marine Corps to continue providing Logistics Command with strategic support that could help enhance the service branch's inventory management.
The company will use a system-oriented approach to spares management called Aircraft Sustainability Model sparing model and provide software and tools in support of LOGCOM’s mission of delivering ground equipment inventory control and logistics capabilities to Marine Corps for optimization of materiel readiness and sustainment, LMI said Monday.
“It is critical that we lend our expertise and contribute to the readiness of our Marine Corps by ensuring its systems operate as efficiently as possible," said Robert Lech, vice president of the defense market at LMI.
For more than a decade now, LMI has been helping the government modernize the Department of Defense's spare parts modeling. The company works to assist the command in improving support for secondary reparable spares through metrics monitoring, budget process enhancement and wholesale and retail source linking.
Lech said LMI will continue and expand LOGCOM support.
