Nutanix has extended the availability of its cloud computing platform to Amazon Web Services' government-focused region to help agencies create and manage applications in a unified information technology environment.
Nutanix Clusters on AWS GovCloud will allow public sector users to adopt the software stack without requiring redevelopment of existing apps, Nutanix said Tuesday.
The Clusters offering is designed to simplify the migration of apps and data from on-premise data centers to the cloud.
Users of the integrated platform can also gain access to the Flow Security Central software as a service meant to support security, network and compliance management tasks.
Chip George, vice president of Nutanix's U.S. public sector business, said the company seeks to help federal customers address “Cloud Smart” goals by simplifying the process to unified hybrid cloud adoption.
The company offers Clusters on GovCloud as a component of its certified product under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program's moderate security category.
A Nutanix-commissioned global IT study found that approximately four out of five respondents in the public sector prefer a hybrid cloud model in IT operations.
