Forward Networks has joined a list of vendors on Carahsoft Technology‘s contract with the U.S. Army for commercial off-the-shelf enterprise information technology software, hardware and support services.

Forward Networks said Monday its platform, which uses a mathematical model designed to analyze network traffic, is now available to Department of Defense components and other federal agencies through the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions–Software 2 procurement vehicle.

Carahsoft won a position on the ITES-SW2 contract last year via the Army Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions program to support government enterprise infrastructure goals.

Zack Zimmerman, director of federal sales at Forward Networks, said the company aims to help agencies produce software replicas or digital twins of a network for behavior analysis.

He added the approach is meant to empower “network and security operators and engineers to quickly visualize and search complex networks, debug configuration problems, verify network-wide policy implementations and predict network behavior prior to deploying changes.”

The software offering is powered by an algorithm that works to index data, monitor end-to-end behavior and verify policy implementations within the network.
