SparkCognition’s government systems business has received a contract from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory to help the lab implement artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts for readiness and manpower planning.
SGS said Wednesday that it secured the award as part of the first phase of the Department of Defense’s Small Business Innovation Research program.
The company will provide research and development support for AFRL’s efforts to create a tool that can help optimize decision-making through data-driven methodologies based on ML and AI.
Logan Jones, president and general manager of SGS, said the company is looking forward to working with AFRL and the Air Force’s AFWERX innovation arm in advancing the use of AI for decision optimization and mission readiness.
SGS’s award falls under a new SBIR topic category indeed for “special” areas with a broader innovation scope.
