Perspecta has been verified by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation as a third-party assessor of cloud products or services under the State Risk and Authorization Management Program.
The ISO 17020:2012 accreditation permits Perspecta to conduct evaluations of cloud information technology offerings intended for state and local agencies, the company said Wednesday.
"StateRAMP is bringing state and local governments together to create a common method for verifying cloud security," said Rocky Thurston, senior vice president and general manager of Perspecta's civilian, state and local business group.
The nonprofit organization provides a systematized verification process aligned with cybersecurity frameworks set forth by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and state governments.
Chantilly, Virginia-based Perspecta received the StateRAMP third-party assessment organization status less than one year after the company renewed its 3PAO designation from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
