Oshkosh Defense will supply the U.S. Army with the M983A4 Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck family of heavy tactical vehicles under a $96.7 million firm-fixed-price contract, which has an estimated completion date of Dec. 29, 2022.
The Department of Defense said Thursday the full amount of the contract was obligated from Army funds at the time of the award.
Army Contracting Command launched an online solicitation and received one bid. Contract work will be conducted in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
HEMTT includes four-axle eight-wheel drive tactical vehicles in cargo, tanker, tractor, wrecker and load handling configurations. The cargo variants have an 11-ton payload capacity, while tankers carry 2,500 gallons of bulk fuel. HEMTT tractors can tow engineer equipment and Patriot semitrailers.
