Griffon subsidiary Telephonics has been selected by Lockheed Martin to provide maritime radar and audio communications management systems to the U.S. Navy's MH-60R/S helicopter program under a potential $162 million contract with a five-year base performance period.
Telephonics said Monday it will fix or replace the AN/APS-153(V) multimode surveillance radar system that helps flight crews gain situational awareness in maritime and littoral environments.
Work also entails repairing or replacing the naval helicopter's communication system control group components that support onboard networks, air traffic radios and navigation aids.
The award falls under a performance-based logistics contract, has a two-year option period and includes an $84 million funded backlog.
