The Defense Information Systems Agency has issued an updated request for information on broadband satellite communications services to add requirements for meeting Level 3 Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program criteria.
DISA said in the updated notice posted Wednesday that the U.S. Space Force seeks Inmarsat resellers to provide services and equipment that support the Inmarsat-built Global Xpress satellite and Broadband Global Area Network.
The agency said in the updated notice that it intends to issue separate contract vehicles for GX and BGAN that focus on supporting land-based platforms.
Inmarsat’s Global Xpress is a Ka-band satellite that provides mobile broadband services around the world to support applications such as aviation, maritime and other internet of things operations, according to the Inmarsat website.
Interested parties are now required to meet the designated CMMC requirements following assessments by certified CMMC Third Party Assessment Organizations.
Responses to the updated solicitation are due on April 8.
