Zscaler has partnered with Telos to use the latter’s Xacta cyber risk assessment tool to help automate deployment authorizations under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and Department of Defense.

The team will execute a phased rollout process for the integration, with Xacta being enabled to ingest the current System Security Plan of Zcaler, Telos said Wednesday.

The second phase will focus on support for Zscaler’s variant of the Linux operating system, Z-OS, while the final phase will authorize the company to use Xacta.

Zscaler intends to leverage Xacta to help customers identify inheritable FedRAMP controls for Zscaler’s government-focused internet access and private access zero-trust exchange platforms.

Stephen Kovac, head of corporate compliance and vice president of global government at Zscaler, said Xacta is meant to streamline complex requirements and help the company meet Open Security Controls Assessment Language standards.

John Wood, chairman and CEO of Telos, said the team is looking forward to working with Zscaler to potentially integrate other technologies to simplify security compliance work for information technology customers.

The FedRAMP Project Management Office is looking into enlisting Zscaler to support the early adoption of OSCAL transactions in Xacta.
