Kratos Defense and Security Solutions has secured an $8.9 million subcontract from USfalcon to modernize four avionics training systems and two maintenance-blended reconfigurable aviation trainers for the U.S. Army's CH-47F Chinook helicopter program.
Kratos said Thursday it will apply the latest aircraft configuration to CAT and MBRAT simulators for the 128th Aviation Brigade at Fort Eustis in Virginia as part of the modernization project.
The update will cover survivability tools and multiple avionics systems used in the Chinook helicopter platform, including the CAT system that simulates the environments inside and outside of the aircraft.
Jose Diaz, senior vice president of Kratos' training solutions business, said the MBRAT combines a high-fidelity virtual environment with spatial physical awareness, physical attributes and simulation software to train student pilots.
USfalcon awarded the subcontract through its position on Pool 6 of the General Services Administration's One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services contract.
