BAE Systems Inc. announced on Thursday that Shelly O’Neill Stoneman, the company’s current vice president for executive branch and international government relations, will become senior vice president for government relations, effective April 17.
She will succeed Frank Ruggiero, who will remain with the company as a Legacy Fellow, and will report directly to BAE Systems’ President and CEO Tom Arseneault, who is also a two-time Wash100 Award recipient. She will also serve as a director on the company’s board of directors.
In her current role, Stoneman has served as the primary liaison to the Pentagon, State Department, Intelligence Community and the White House for BAE Systems. She also works to support foreign military sales and direct international commercial sales.
As an SVP, Stoneman will be responsible for all government relations activities, which will include overseeing and maintaining the company’s relationships with the Department of Defense (DOD), Congress and state governments.
“Shelly has already proven that she’s a strong senior leader who can work effectively across the company, throughout the Pentagon and across the aisle to ensure we deliver for our customer,†said Arseneault. “I look forward to her joining the Senior Leadership Team and continuing to strengthen our engagement with the government.â€
