Unisys has appointed Leon Gilbert as senior vice president and general manager of the company’s Digital Workplace Services, effective Feb. 1. The company said Monday Gilbert will report to Eric Hutto, president and chief operating officer of Unisys.

"Leon brings both world-class digital workplace services expertise and a client-centric focus to Unisys… This effort will enable us to scale our digital workplace services business and thus more effectively provide our clients with higher-value services… We welcome Leon to Unisys and look forward to working with him in furthering our leadership in this critical space," Hutto said.

Gilbert has more than two and a half decades of global experience within the digital workplace environment. Prior to joining Unisys, he served as global head of Digital Workplace Practice with Atos. In the role, Gilbert was responsible for the entire E2E lifecycle, including pre-sales, portfolio, engineering, architecture, T&T and operations.

Gilbert joined Atos in 2014. Before heading the Digital Workplace Practice, he was global client delivery executive for the company's Johnson & Johnson account. He also served as vice president of Atos Digital Workplace Practice for North America.

Gilbert also served as senior vice president of End User Services for Marsh & McLennan Companies. With Marsh & McLennan, he developed and implemented a strategic roadmap. He also reduced headcount by 47 percent in 18 months and increased productivity to 102 percent above industry standard.

Before his tenure with Marsh & McLennan, Gilbert served as global program manager with mBlox, service delivery manager with Pipex and Severn Trent Services and management consultant with Valoris. Gilbert began his career with Cable & Wireless, where he held the role of business customer service team leader.

"Organizations must provide an exceptional experience to their employees, not only to retain them in a competitive marketplace and ensure that they are productive but also so their employees can in turn provide better service to their organization's customers. This is my goal for Unisys…” Gilbert said.
