Northrop Grumman's defense systems sector has agreed to provide guidance to remote identification service provider Pierce Aerospace as part of a mentor-protege program, sUAS News reported Monday.
Aaron Pierce, CEO of Pierce Aerospace, said Northrop will employ its expertise to help the smaller company develop its business capabilities. Pierce Aerospace works to deliver network-based identity and tracking system for unmanned aircraft systems used in civilian and military operations.
"We’ve worked with Northrop to execute Remote ID integrations in the field with our Flight Portal ID technology suite and Northrop’s M-ACE counter-drone and Forward Area Air Defense C2 products," said Pierce.
The chief executive added Northrop served as an advocate for the combat and remote ID technologies.
The mentor-protege program seeks to help small businesses expand their capabilities to work with the U.S. government through mentorship activities led by prime contractors.
