Microsoft has transitioned a public cloud ecosystem for quantum computing platforms and services to public preview.

Azure Quantum in public preview will provide developers, systems integrators, researchers and other users access to a diverse set of quantum hardware, software and related tools to learn and build quantum applications, Krysta Svore, general manager for Microsoft Quantum, wrote in a blog post published Monday.

Microsoft also offers through Azure Quantum an open-source Quantum Development Kit that allows users to work with a community of quantum developers and innovators and access a library of learning materials, samples and other resources to improve quantum computing and optimization skills.

Developers can use the quantum cloud platform to tap into quantum computing capabilities offered by Microsoft and its partners Honeywell, IonQ, Toshiba, 1QBit and QCI.

Microsoft first announced development work on Azure Quantum in November 2019.
