Thomas Pannell, formerly a partner at Ernst & Young's forensic and integrity services practice, has been appointed a managing director within the investigations and risk advisory group of K2 Integrity.

He will work in K2 Integrity's New York office and be responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary teams that help corporations and legal advisers to address critical events, the company said Feb. 3.

His more than two-decade industry experience covers accounting and investigation business areas. At EY, he previously guided clients on regulatory matters and risk mitigation approaches.

Pannell held a senior manager role before EY promoted him to partner and also worked for the firm's business risk services unit, where he focused on internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance processes.

K2 Integrity also named Timothy Hedley, a former KPMG partner, as a senior adviser for the investigations and risk advisory practice. He works with clients to help them prevent, detect and respond to integrity or governance challenges.
