IBM CEO Arvind Krishna said the company will sharpen its focus on partnerships to drive revenue during the next five years in a push to become known as the leading global hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence provider, CRN reported Monday.
“I want our partners to be the best at establishing a hybrid architecture at our clients and establishing an AI footprint at our clients,†Krishna told CRN in an interview.
He noted that IBM sees a potential $1 trillion market opportunity for hybrid cloud offerings and plans to approach its 500 biggest customers through a new go-to-market strategy.
Big Blue's chief executive envisions the company and its partners working to help clients understand the potential of integrated platforms such as the Linux Kubernetes containerization technology to support on-premise and cloud information technology operations.
The $34 billion acquisition of Red Hat in July 2019 gave IBM access to the OpenShift software suite, which Krishna says will be key to the latter's hybrid cloud market approach, the report noted.
IBM also partnered with professional services company EY to help clients transform business operations with the use of OpenShift and other hybrid cloud products.
Notable industry and federal executives will discuss artificial intelligence at the Potomac Officers Club's 3rd Annual AI Summit on March 30. To register for this virtual event, visit the Potomac Officers Club Events page.
