Guidehouse Names Lance Robertson as Health Care Practice Director; Scott McIntyre Quoted

Guidehouse has appointed Lance Robertson, a former Department of Health and Human Services assistant secretary and a U.S. Army veteran, as a director in the health care practice at the company, Guidehouse reported on Wednesday. 

“Our team is excited to welcome Lance Robertson to Guidehouse and engage him with our clients,” said Scott McIntyre, Guidehouse CEO and 2020 Wash100 Award recipient. “He is passionate about driving innovation to best serve older Americans and people with disabilities, and is a strong addition to our team of seasoned consultants working across the healthcare continuum to advance holistic care and wellness.”

Robertson is an expert in aging and disability services. He recently helped advise the COVID-19 vaccine distribution strategy and addressed issues facing vulnerable populations, specifically in rural areas.

At Guidehouse, Robertson will support the company’s full spectrum of long-term care and community-based services and support solutions.

He received 100 percent bipartisan confirmation from the Senate when he was appointed to his HHS position in 2017. At the department, Robertson served as the nation’s gerontologist and lead for aging and disability issues. In the role, he helped manage the agency’s $4 billion budget, nationwide team, programs and a research institute. 

Roberston collaborated with key stakeholders to enable older adults and people with disabilities to live and work independently in the community. He has led initiatives that connect health with human services and social determinants. 

Prior to joining HHS, Robertson served as director of Aging Services at the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. He also served with Oklahoma State University’s Gerontology Institute and Partnerships for Aging.
