Kevin Heald, vice president of information exploitation at Novetta, has said the company is working to address customer challenges within six to 12 months to demonstrate capacities to expand into bigger programs, SiliconANGLE reported Wednesday.
Heald told the publication in an interview that Novetta also seeks to simplify interactions between data and systems to improve the gathering of insights through emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, internet of things and machine learning.
Steven Adelman, principal computer scientist at Novetta, said in the same interview that the flexibility of the company’s compute resources enabled it to become an early adopter of cloud infrastructure.
“Rather than standing up a 200-node cluster at many millions of dollars, we could spin up [Amazon Web Services] resources, process a big data set, and then get the answers the analyst or an operator needed,†he noted.
According to Heald, the company is “very fortunate†to work with innovation-focused clients.
“The typical stereotype of government work is it’s this very stove-piped, hardcore acquisition process, so we’ve been fortunate to, instead, try quick-win kind of projects,†he said.
