Uyen Dinh, a former Department of Homeland Security official, has joined geospatial intelligence company BlackSky to serve as vice president for government relations and strategy.
Dinh will contribute over 20 years of experience in national security, cybersecurity and geospatial intelligence to BlackSky's government engagements, the company said Tuesday.
She served as the deputy assistant secretary for DHS' Office of Legislative Affairs during her time with the federal government.
“Uyen has the unique ability to view challenges and opportunities strategically, while building tactical roadmaps to address them," said Brian O’Toole, CEO at BlackSky. He expects the company to benefit from Dinh's leadership of its government relations and strategy efforts.
The new VP's career also includes leadership work at satellite company GeoEye, now part of DigitalGlobe, and Win Strategies, a national security consulting company that she founded.
Dinh also held counsel roles for the House Armed Services Committee and other groups serving the U.S. House of Representatives.
