Cobham's advanced electronic solutions business has received a $48M contract to provide Application Specific Integrated Circuit components and product support to an unnamed customer for medical imaging applications.

For over two decades, CAES has been providing radiation-tolerant and mixed-signal ASICs for computed tomography scanners used by the medical imaging community, the company said Dec. 22.

The Arlington, Virginia-based electronics manufacturer has four design centers that house the development of mixed-signal integrated circuits for customers in the medical, telecommunications, commercial, defense and space sectors.

Mike Kahn, president and CEO of CAES, said the company is looking forward to continuing its support for medical imaging procedures by building on its experience in designing and manufacturing electronics.

CAES ASICs have been used to support screening and imaging technologies for radiology, aerospace and defense, security screening, satellite and space, military and industrial applications.
