The U.S. Air Force has selected Box to provide a cloud-based technology for the service branch's airmen education and training units to manage electronic technical data, share large files and organize workflows.

Box said Wednesday it will supply the company's Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program-compliant content management platform to Air Combat Command and Air Education and Training Command.

The Department of Defense previously granted provisional authority to operate certification to the technology offering at DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide Impact Level 4.

"We are excited to power the Air Force in its pursuit to educate, train and empower the next generation of Airmen," said Sonny Hashmi, managing director of Box's global public sector group.

“The organization leads as an example of how our public sector can digitally transform workplace practices to power secure collaboration and real-time access to information in the field."
