ViON, Fujitsu Form Computing Tech Partnership; Tom Frana Quoted

ViON and Fujitsu have signed a strategic partnership agreement to offer the latter's server technology in the North American market.

The alliance centers on the PRIMEHPC FX700 system powered by Fujitsu's ARM-based A64FX central processing unit, ViON said Tuesday. A64FX CPU powers the Fugaku supercomputer Fujitsu is developing with Japan-based scientific research institute Riken.

Tom Frana, chairman and CEO of ViON and two-time Wash100 Award recipient, said the company aims to help customers address high-performance computing requirements with the PRIMEHPC FX700 offering.

The partnership intends to assist customers in HPC deployment efforts for data-intensive applications.

According to ViON, it will support implementation work that includes proof of concept testing, staging, onsite installation, as well as provide professional and managed services.

ViON's experience processing, storing, managing and protecting data in the Federal, State and Local, as well as Commercial markets allows us a unique capability to bring complex solutions to market,” Frana added.
