General Atomics' aeronautical systems business has finished maintenance work on NMQ-1B Predator remotely piloted aircraft stationed at a U.S. Navy installation in Point Mugu, California, as part of a two-phase contract.
The Navy plans to use its MQ-1 RPAs as targets for operational training that the company will help facilitate under the second phase of the contract slated to begin early next year and conclude with a flight test of the armed vehicle, General Atomics said Friday.
The Predator system is designed to help military operators collect intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance data.
