Perspecta's applied research unit has received a $5.1M contract modification to mature a radio-frequency management system for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and demonstrate the technology on an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Perspecta Labs will perform Phase 3 activities for its RF resource manager system throughout a 21-month period as part of DARPA's Converged Collaborative Elements for RF Task Operations program, Perspecta said Tuesday.

The tool is designed to mitigate UAV tracking errors while accelerating decision-making and supporting radar, communications and electronic warfare functions.

Perspecta noted that it will also manage third-party payload for the RF system as part of the modification.

Petros Mouchtaris, president of Perspecta Labs, said the team is “excited to mature and demonstrate“ the RF technology on UAVs to help achieve multiplatform and multifunction requirements for battle management.

The award builds on Perspecta Labs' phase 2 work on the CONCERTO program, as well as its six-month effort to build extensions for the RF resource manager tool.
