Microsoft and Panasonic have partnered in an effort to help public safety organizations automate the process of editing sensitive content out of video files used as criminal justice evidence.
Panasonic said Friday its identity redaction technology runs on the Microsoft Azure Government cloud platform and seeks to reduce manual editing on censorship tasks by 90 percent.
IDguard is designed with artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, while Azure is built to support infrastructure management in cloud, on-premise or hybrid environments.
Eric Symon, director of the Enterprise Process Innovation Center at Panasonic System Solutions of North America, said the partnership aims to help law enforcement personnel manage and protect digital evidence while automating the video redaction process.
Panasonic announced the alliance Friday at a International Association of Chiefs of Police-hosted virtual event.
