A new Deltek report shows that there are three trends in the federal cloud market to watch in fiscal year 2021 and one of those is the accelerated adoption of cloud-based capabilities by agencies, Federal Times reported Thursday.

The Department of Defense also expressed its commitment to spending on commercial cloud offerings. DoD expects to spend approximately $300M in FY 2021 funds on commercial cloud platforms.

Another trend is the government’s increasing focus on “sound data management,” which incites agencies to adopt commercial cloud platforms.

The Federal Cloud Computing Market, 2020-2022 report from Deltek predicts federal investments in cloud services to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4.6 percent to reach $7.8B by FY 2022, up from $6.8B in FY 2020.
