Dewberry has secured task orders to help the U.S. Geological Survey conduct airborne geophysical surveys over the states of Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico and Texas.
The company said Tuesday it will use towed-array sensors on a helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft to map subsurface geologic areas as part of rare earth element and mineral search efforts under the agency's Earth Mapping Resources Initiative.
USGS is looking to understand the potential use of critical mineral deposits that can be discovered through EMRI.
Dewberry aims to complete the surveying projects early next year.
