Systems and Technology Research has won a potential $8.3M contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide software to support research and development work on models and seed designs related to unmanned underwater vehicles.

The Air Force Research Laboratory received 23 offers for the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract and will obligate $1M in research, development, test and evaluation funds for fiscal 2020 at the time of award, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

DoD said the contract supports R&D efforts to assess design platforms developed by the technology area 1 team and symbiosis technologies from TA2 team.

Work will occur in Woburn, Massachusetts, through October 2024.

STR develops sensors and data processing capabilities for defense, homeland security and intelligence applications. The company provides capabilities in tech areas such as acoustic systems, battle management command and control, cyber physical systems and data analytics.
