Microsoft has increased the number of its Azure Government cloud services that are authorized to handle Department of Defense workloads at the highest security baseline by 18.
The company said Tuesday it now has 97 offerings on its platform for hosting impact level 5 controlled unclassified information and these include infrastructure as a service and platform as a service.
New Azure services are intended to help mission owners reduce latency, back up and recover files and grow the geographical expanse of employed data centers.
Azure Defender for IoT, one of the newly added services, allows users to analyze internet of things devices for security against cyber threats.
Developers handling IL5 workloads can now also use Azure Machine Learning to operate ML workflows and Microsoft Power Automate to automate processes, the company noted.
